In a donation from Hot Springs National Park, the city's Parks and Trails Department received six pieces of workout equipment, which was recently installed on the Hot Springs Creek Greenway trail near the Shady Grove and Hollywood Ave. intersection. The equipment is free for the public to use.
The set includes an elliptical, four-person pendulum, two-person chest press, four-person leg press, rowing machine and abdominal press. It's on an ADA accessible concrete slab branching off the Greenway Trail.
Parks and Trails Department Office Manager Kathleen Fason said the National Park purchased the equipment, but decided not to use it and donated it to the city.
"We've had several people call and thank us for it, and a lot of people are using it," Fason said.
