FBI reopens 25-year cold case of local Kristy Yates, saying the killer(s) may reside in Arkansas

April 26 will mark 25 years since the killing of local 15-year-old Kristy Leigh Yates, but FBI Little Rock opened a federal case in 2020, and have now released information that Yates's killer(s) may reside in Arkansas.
Yates was last seen at the Hot Springs Mall on April 25, 1997, before her remains were found the following day near Sleepy Valley Road.
The FBI is asking the public for help on uncovering new information, and have posted a $25,000 reward leading to an arrest and conviction of the killer(s).

Update, 3-8-2022
Despite no new developments being released to the public on Yates's case at this time, the FBI will launch a social media advertising campaign March 11 - April 11, targeting Garland and Hot Spring Counties, in hopes of gaining more information.
