Library takes warm, well items for community members through Dec. 31

The following information was provided by the Garland County Library.
Warm & Well Bins

The Garland County Library is collecting items for a Warm & Well Donation Drive through Dec. 31.

“Warm” donations accepted will include new or gently used coats, blankets, gloves, hats, scarves, socks and other warm apparel. Donations for tarps, sleeping bags, tents and other outdoor items are also encouraged.

“Well” donations will include hygiene products like toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine care products, soap, shampoo and other items for personal wellness.

Donations made to the Library will be distributed to local charities and organizations whose mission is to aid the members of Hot Springs and Garland County.

The Warm & Well Donation Drive was conceived by Public Services Director Karen Covey, who said, “The phrase ‘Warm and Well’ encompasses the basic necessities that we need to stay warm and healthy this winter. Not everyone in our community has these basic needs taken care of, so the Garland County Library wants to help. The Library already helps the community in the form of access to books, information and technology, and we want to do more — by connecting those in need with the items they need to be warm and well.”
