Mid-America, Superior to hold Think and Drink event on Bathhouse Row

Think and Drink

The following is from a Mid-America Science Museum News Release.

Mid-America Science Museum announced plans for a new speaker series, Drink and Think, to take place in the Ozark Bathhouse in partnership with Friends of Hot Springs National Park and Superior Bathhouse Brewery.

Intended for adult audiences, the series will provide an entertaining examination of various elements in the national park. The first Drink and Think will take place Thursday, April 14 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 p.m. and feature Superior Bathhouse Brewery founder Rose Schweikhart’s discussing the process involved in turning the National Park’s geothermal water into beer.

Educators from the Museum will also provide interactive science exhibits for attendees to enjoy.

“Hot Springs National Park and its bathhouses allow visitors to explore the area’s rich and storied history,” noted Museum Executive Director Diane LaFollette. “Drink and Think will be a fun, new opportunity for attendees to uncover the amazing range of natural sciences at work in the National Park.”

Drink and Think is the first collaborative effort between Friends of Hot Springs National Park, Superior Bathhouse Brewery, and Mid-America Science Museum. There will be a total of five evenings taking place throughout 2022. Future speakers include Museum educators and National Park Service rangers discussing topics including the urban night sky, hot water geology, and the science of sound.

“Mid-America Science Museum is more than a place to visit, it’s a hands-on experience that makes science exciting,” explained Museum Director of Operations Noreen Killen. “Drink and Think will provide a new experience to our visitors and reintroduce individuals to the fun, adult side of the Museum.”

Tickets are $25 per person and include entry to the Ozark Bathhouse, two drink tickets that can be redeemed for beer from Superior, light appetizers, and admission to the event. Individuals interested in attending multiple evenings can purchase a pass for $90. Members of Mid-America Science Museum and Friends of Hot Springs National Park can purchase Drink and Think tickets at a discounted rate of $20 per person per event and $70 for a pass. Proceeds from all sales will benefit Mid-America Science Museum.
