Remembering Elvis Presley on Aug. 16 with The Burger Chef at The Ohio Club

Aug.16 is the day "The King," formally known as Elvis Presley, died in 1977. Yet 45 years after his passing at the young age of 42, Presley's memory is kept alive by fans like Burger Chef Michael Dampier of The Ohio Club.
It doesn't take a member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club to know his favorite food was a fried banana sandwich. For those not familiar, this dish is simply peanut butter and bananas placed between two slices of bread and fried on a stove. It's hard to beat the classics, but Dampier has done it with a burger much more intricate, yet still paying homage to Presley's favorite.
The Elvis Burger is made up of a 7 oz. patty infused with Skrewball Whiskey and banana extract, served on a toasted bun with peanut butter, grilled bananas, bacon and hot pepper bacon jam.
This dish is sure to leave you "all shook up." The caveat is Dampier only makes and serves this burger twice a year: on Presley's deathday and birthday. Don't miss the chance starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at The Ohio Club to grab The Elvis Burger. This $10 meal (with a side of fries) will be served until sold-out.
If missed, the next time this dish will be served is Jan. 8.
For Dampier, Presley's music has always been a huge part of his life. As teenagers, his mom and her sisters would go to the rockstar's home, known as Graceland, in Memphis, TN, trying to catch a glimpse of him. In-turn, growing up Dampier would visit Graceland, which is still a popular destination today for fans to visit.
But Dampier doesn't just remember Presley in August and January. Come April, he can be found in the World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade marching as an Irish Elvi. And anytime of year is a good time to listen to his favorite song from Presley, Suspicious Minds.
"I've just always loved the music and the fascination of Elvis Presley," Dampier said.
