Zoppé Winter Circus comes to Hot Springs during its 180th year

Piccolo Zoppe Circus

During its 180th year, the Piccolo Zoppé Winter Circus will be making Hot Springs its home Nov. 18-Dec. 4.

Still run by the Zoppé family since its inception in 1842, this iconic Italian family has brought along its band of stupefacente equine, poodles, acrobats, aerialists, jugglers (and more) to enjoy the start of winter in the Spa City. The circus is set up at Memorial Field Airport, 525 Airport Road, and begins Friday.

The days have turned cold rapidly, so what better way to get warmed up this season than by having front-row seats in a heated tent to a show involving many fiery tricks?

"This one-of-a-kind is a magical European circus that is sure to capture your heart," the press release reads. "The Zoppé family has been enchanting audiences around the world since traveling the cobblestone roads of Italy in 1842. 180 years later their passion for performing their art and sharing their hearts with their audiences remains true to this day.

"Piccolo Zoppé is an intimate, European-style circus, classic in its beauty. No audience member is more than 18 feet away from the ring.

"Feeling the rush of the Zoppé horses galloping by is an experience young and old will not soon forget."

Each show will have European-style street food and circus favorites like popcorn, cotton candy and other "delectable delights.

"So come early and bring your appetite."
